Paul Wheelahan (born 1930) is a writer-artist and the creator of The Panther and The Raven.

After the Australian comic book industry had all but collapsed during the early 1960s, Paul Wheelahan embarked on a lengthy career as a 'pulp fiction' novelist, writing hundreds of Western, romance, crime and thriller novels for the Cleveland Publishing Company (Sydney) between 1964-1996. His work appeared under a range of pseudonyms, including 'Emerson Dodge', 'E. Jefferson Clay' and 'Brett McKinley'.

He briefly self-published a series of Western novels during the late 1990s under the Dodge Western imprint and now writes Westerns (under his own name) for the British book publisher, Robert Hale, which appear under their Black Horse Westerns imprint.
